How to measure a garage door?
1) Measure the rough opening: width&height.
2) Measure the side room: left side&right side.
3) Measure the headroom: between the top of the door opening (or door jamb header) and the ceiling of the garage.
4) Measure the backroom: distance from the garage door opening to the back wall of the garage.
Before the production,we have to know the clear measurements, its better to have the site pictures ,our techinical will make sure the production size and installation size are matched.
As a general rule of thumb, the standard garage door dimensions are:
- Single door: 7ft (2,134 mm) x 7ft (2,134 mm)
- Double door: 14ft (4,267 mm) x 7ft (2,134 mm) or 16ft (4,877 mm) x 7ft (2,134 mm)
How do garage doors work?
Garage doors operate using a system of springs, tracks, and rollers, allowing them to open and close smoothly, typically controlled by a remote or wall switch.
1. What frames are considered best and why?
Although wood is also an elegant choice for frames, it is also sensitive, inconvenient formoisture places and it warps. It's best to get aluminum frames since they are stronger, perfect for such applications, completely reliable and resistance to elements.
2. What is headroom for a garage door?
Headroom is the space above the garage door. This means that if your garage door is 7 feet tall, your ceiling height would have to be 8 feet for the additional 12 inches of headroom. The headroom of a garage door can't be obstructed by anything: beams, lighting, or ductwork all count. For torsion springs, 12 inches of headroom is recommended.
In the event that you only have 4-12 inches of headroom, the best option is to use a dual-track system. These are specifically built for garages with low ceilings or less headroom. If you have higher ceilings and want your garage door track to accommodate this, high-lift tracks are also available so your door will sit closer to the ceiling.
3. What types of garage doors are available?
There are lots of garage door types on the market, and they are widely customizable to the exterior and needs of your home. For garage door styles, you can choose between modern, traditional, and carriage house. Materials may include steel, glass, wood, aluminum, or vinyl. You can then customize your door with colors, textures, and designs. You can also choose whether to add windows or insulation.
4. How much do garage doors cost?
Prices vary depending on material, size, and type of garage door. Normally, garage doors will fall into the range of $2000 to
$10,000. But we work with many brands and materials to give you a wide range of options and help fit your budget for new garage doors.
